Abstract
RecQ helicases and topoisomerase III are-both required for genome stability , particularly to prevent 'promiscuous' genetic recombination. A recent stu dy demonstrates that, together, these enzymes can catalyse the interlinking of plasmid DNA, and suggests a novel mechanism for the control of recombin ation.
