Abstract
A compact polymeric wavelength division multiplexer based on a slab wavegui de and a reflective transmission grating is presented for application withi n the low cost data-commmunications market. The device channel spacing is 8 00GHz (6.4nm), measures only 4 x 4mm in size, displays a polarisation-depen dent wavelength shift of 0.1nm and crosstalk levels approaching -25dB.
