K. Suzuki et al., Reduction of backscattering-induced noise by ternary phase shift keying inresonator micro-optic gyro integrated on silica planar lightwave circuit, ELECTR LETT, 35(13), 1999, pp. 1076-1077
The authors propose a method that uses ternary phase shift keying modulatio
n to eliminate backscattering-induced noise in a resonator micro-optic gyro
(R-MOG) integrated onto a silica planar lightwave circuit (PLC). Ternary m
odulation overcomes Limitations on the degree of elimination possible cause
d by the narrow bandwidth of the thermo-optic phase modulator on PLC, the b
andwidth of which is limited to 1 kHz.
