Abstract
It was determined that AMP, ADP, ATP are modulators of the ornithine decarb oxylase (ODC) from mouse liver and Ehrlich carcinoma cells. ATP proved to b e an allosteric inhibitor of ODC. Inhibition constant for ODC from Ehrlich carcinoma cells and liver are 1.06 and 8.2 mM correspondingly. ADP also inh ibits ODC activity, but worse than ATP; and AMP activates decarboxylation p rocess. Activation constants are 17 and 7.8 mM for Ehrlich carcinoma cells and liver correspondingly. It has been concluded that adenine nucleotides p lay the role of metabolism-integrating modulators in Ehrlich carcinoma cell s as well as that biosynthesis of polyamines is under control of cell energ etics.
