Abstract
A novel optical interconnect based on electronically controlled angle steer ing of spatial solitons is demonstrated experimentally in AlGaAs slab waveg uides, The basic operation and the layout of the device, are described. A m aximal lateral steering of 100 mu m was achieved, which is sufficient for t he separation of four output channels. Using this device as a building bloc k should lead to the experimental realization of dynamically reconfigurable N x N optical crossconnects.
