Abstract
Substantial improvement for absorbing radiating waves in simulations with t he two-dimensional beam propagation method can be achieved by introducing t wo new pairs of Higdon operators in the complementary operators method. The new boundary condition allows the elimination of the second-order reflecti ons arising from the truncation of the computational domain.
