Abstract
Condensation of 2H-naphth[2,3-d][3, 1]oxazin-2,4((1H)-dione (1; R=H, CH3) w ith alpha-amino acids in hot acetic acid yields 3-substituted (2a-k) and 1- methyl-3-substituted-2H-naphtho-[2,3-e][1,2]diaizepin-2, 5(1H, 4H)-diones ( 21-n). All the compounds have been characterised by spectral and microanaly tical data.
