INFLUENCE OF TRANSPORT ON THE ADSORPTION OF COLLOIDAL SUSPENSIONS

In this paper we consider the influence of hydrodynamic interactions o n the irreversible adsorption of hard spheres on a flat surface. Unlik e the usual models which take into account the finite size of the adso rbing particles, we have made computer simulations where both the tran sport and the geometric aspects related to the adsorption problem are taken into account. We are able to compare our data with some recent e xperimental results, explaining some discrepancies obtained when compa ring the experimental data with the appropriate adsorption kinetic mod el.
