Abstract
The electrochemical immobilization of glucose oxidase (GOD) within polypyrr ole films electrogenerated on mesoporous TiO2 films is described. The poros ity of anatase TiO2 layers allows the diffusion of amphiphilic pyrrole ammo nium tetrafluoroborate (1) and its electrochemical oxidation at the underly ing SnO2 surface. The determination of glucose is carried out at - 0.15 V ( vs. Ag \AgCl) via the selective reduction of H2O2 at the TiO2 surface. The analytical characteristics of different poly 1-GOD coatings have been compa red. In addition, the influence of the thickness of the TiO2 layer on the p erformance of the biosensor for H2O2 and glucose detection has been determi ned. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A.
