Jg. Westkaemper et al., Posterior interosseous nerve palsy in a patient with rheumatoid synovitis of the elbow: A case report and review of the literature, J HAND S-AM, 24A(4), 1999, pp. 727-731
A 54-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis developed loss of finger exte
nsion in the left hand. History, physical examination, and electromyography
led to the diagnosis of posterior interosseous nerve palsy secondary to sy
novitis of the elbow. Anterior decompression and synovectomy resulted in a
complete recovery. A literature review describes similar cases and compares
outcomes. (J Hand Surg 1999;24A:727-731. Copyright (C) 1999 by the America
