S. Lahiri et al., Separation of carrier free (DY)-D-152,153 and Tb151-153 from O-16(7+) irradiated CeO2 by liquid-liquid extraction, J RAD NUCL, 241(1), 1999, pp. 201-206
Charged particle activation of natural CeO2 with similar to 80 MeV O-16(7+)
results in the formation of carrier free isotopes, Dy-151,Dy-152,Dy-153 an
d their daughter products, Tb-151,Tb-152,Tb-153, in the matrix. The liquid
cation exchanger. HDEHP, has effectively been utilised as an extractant in
the quantitative separation of the activation products namely Dy-151,Dy-152
,Dy-153, Tb-151,Tb-152,Tb-153 from the bulk target matrix of ceric oxide.
