Photoionization cross sections and angular electron distribution parameters
in the photoionization of the subvalent shells of Kr and Xe atoms are calc
ulated. The configuration interaction theory and the perturbation theory ar
e used for describing the many-electron effects. Relativistic effects are t
aken into account in the Pauli-Fock approximation. The necessity is shown t
o take into account simultaneously many-electron and relativistic effects i
n the description of the photoionization of the outer shells in the near-th
reshold region.
