Abstract
Dynamic effect on the fine structure of X-ray photoelectron spectra of lant hanide oxides and fluorides is discussed. The Ln4p electron spectra are con siderably complicated by the interaction between the configurations of the main one-hole and additional two-hole final states of 4p (5)4d (10)4f(n) <- > 4p (6)4d (8)4f(n+1) type. The effect of the nature of atoms in the neares t environment of lanthanide ions on the fine structure parameters is evalua ted.
