Abstract
In this paper we investigate two classes of overdetermined initial and boun dary value problems of parabolic type. Under appropriate assumptions we con clude that the solutions u(x, t) of the considered problems must be radiall y symmetric, which implies radial symmetry of the boundary configuration.
