This paper provides the experimental measurement of Zn and Mn K-shell ioniz
ation cross-sections. The thin targets with thick substrate are used in the
experiment. The influence of the reflected electrons from the substrate on
the measurements has been corrected by means of a detailed calculation of
electron transport. It is shown that the corrected K-shell ionization cross
-sections of Mn are in good agreement with the existing experimental data.
The paper also presents experimental data of Zn, which are measured for the
first time in energy from near threshold to 25 keV. (C) 1999 Elsevier Scie
