The one-dimensional Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation has been studied in the pr
esence of an inhomogeneous Gaussian noise. The dependence of the surface wi
dth w on the equation parameters has been explored numerically by means of
a local interaction approach based on parallel computing and two different
scaling regimes have been found. The set of indices describing the dependen
ce of w on the model parameters has been numerically evaluated and shows a
good agreement with the theoretical values.
