The general microscopic formalism is presented for the description of the q
uasielastic knock-out of cu clusters from p-shell nuclei by ultrarelativist
ic electrons, Manifestations of nuclear structure in differential cross sec
tions and angular distributions are studied. The typical C-12(e,epsilon'alp
ha)Be-8 reaction is considered in the PWIA and DWIA approximations; particu
lar attention is paid to the effects of virtually excited cluster states in
side the initial nucleus. Suggestions for the observation of nuclear restru
cturing effects (interplay between diagonal and off-diagonal transitions wi
th respect to the intrinsic state of the cluster) are proposed. [S0556-2813
