Abstract
Multiscale correlation functions in high Reynolds number experimental turbu lence, numerical simulations, and synthetic signals are investigated. Fusio n Rules predictions as they arise from multiplicative, almost uncorrelated, random processes for the energy cascade are tested. Leading and subleading contribution, in the inertial range, can be explained as arising from a mu ltiplicative random process for the energy transfer mechanisms. Two differe nt predictions for correlations involving dissipative observable are also b riefly discussed. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics. [S1070-6631(99)04 208-7].
