Hy. Chen et al., Currents induced in the human body by ELF electric fields inside houses located under power lines, RADIO SCI, 34(4), 1999, pp. 1013-1024
The moment method and the image technique are used to study currents induce
d in human bodies standing under 345-kV power lines with and without house
shielding. The maximum induced current in a human body without house shield
ing is found to be 68.9 mu A. The maximum induced current in a human body w
ith a cement-house shielding is found to be 4.36 x 10(-11) A. In this paper
the electric fields induced on human body surfaces are also presented. It
is found that there is an electric field enhancement factor at the top of t
he head.
