Abstract
Tn this work we present preliminary results on the study of the ceramic sys tem, described here by the proposed formula Ca(n)Bi(4)Ti(3+n)O(12+3)n, wher e 0.25 < n < 2.10. We synthesised this series of compounds by solid state r eaction method. The technique used for characterisation were DTA, DSC, TG, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It w as found that reaction temperature of these compounds is 889 degrees C. We obtained a single phase in the range of 1.00 < n < 2.10, the identified str ucture by XRD is isostructural to SrBi4Ti4O15 compound, which has an orthor hombic structure [1]. Well formed grained structure is exhibited by electro n microscope photographs.
