Abstract
Critical comments regarding the model of the defectoscope electroacoustic c hannel developed under the author's leadership are evaluated. The claims ma de regarding its approximate assumptions and errors are analyzed. It is sho wn that these charges are not substantiated. The fundamental weakness of th e alternative model proposed to describe the whole defectoscope electroacou stic channel is noted.
