Abstract
Eschenmoser's research in the area of corrin chemistry served as the starti ng point for the development of chiral C-2-symmetric semicorrins and relate d ligands, specifically designed for the enantiocontrol of metal-catalyzed reactions. During the last few years, these ligands have found a remarkable variety of applications in asymmetric catalysis. More recently, we have ex tended our work from semicorrins and bisoxazolines to non-symmetric phosphi nooxazolines, which also proved to be highly versatile ligands for asymmetr ic catalysis.
