Abstract
The European red deer (Cervus elaphus L.) is the last large free living rum inant on the European continent. But even this species is limited to small isolated populations. For decades migration has been successfully impeded b y prevailing hunting laws and by forest management measures so that each sm all population is becoming more and more genotypically and phenotypically m onomorphic. This investigation morphometrically-statistically describes suc h a population.
