Abstract
In 15 postmenopausal women with no cardiovascular risk factors, hormone rep lacement with transdermal estradiol (50 mu g/day for 2 months) did not enha nce flow-mediated endothelium-dependent vasodilation, reduce endothelium-in dependent vasodilation, and did not modify the pulsatility index and blood flow of the brachial artery. The present data do not support a positive eff ect of replacement with transdermal estradiol on vessel vasodilation in hea lthy, postmenopausal women.
