Abstract
A brief description is given of the main research recently performed by the authors in the field of organic phase enzyme electrodes (OPEEs), including those referring to biosensors still being developed or to applications in progress. The data provided refer mainly to the response throughout the lif etime of mono- or bi-enzymatic OPEEs using tyrosinase, catalase, superoxide dismutase, phospholipase D plus choline oxidase and butyrylcholinesterase plus choline oxidase, and operating in different organic solvents or solven t mixtures (n-hexane, chloroform, dimethylsulphoxide, chloroform/hexane 50% by volume, respectively).
