To solve the solar Li-problem and to reduce the deviation between the sound
speed of standard solar models and that infered from helioseismology, whic
h is a persistent feature immediately below the convective envelope in most
solar models, some additional mixing effect can be postulated. We investig
ate, how a recently proposed parametric prescription of overshooting, which
is based on two-dimensional hydrodynamical calculations, affects both the
lithium content and the seismic properties of the models. While we conclude
that for a certain choice of the free parameter the observed Lithium deple
tion can be reproduced, we also show that this parameter is neither constan
t within the Sun, nor during its evolution. Further, all models with oversh
ooting agree less with the seismic model than the standard model.
