Abstract
Radiocollars, which commonly are used to study mammals, might increase the mortality of the animals studied. We used Cormack-Jolly-Seber mod eling on data of root voles (Microtus oeconomus). to rest whether an i ncrease in mortality due to radiocollars occurred, Higher mortality wa s not detected in animals wearing collars compared with animals that d id not wear collars.
