Abstract
Many of today's design solutions combine intellectual property (IP) with th e use of one of many types of standard bus. Against the background of a gen eral discussion of IP and the various types of "virtual components" or "cor es" that are available and the specifics of operation of the IEEE 1394 bus, this feature explores the design of a video camera.
