Abstract
Enantiomers of eight basic compounds of pharmaceutical interest were studie d by capillary electrophoresis (CE) using a soluble cyclodextrin (CD) polym er and native CD as chiral selectors. The effects of the polymer concentrat ion and the pH of the buffer solution on resolution were examined. It was f ound that the beta-CD polymer shows higher stereoselectivity than its paren t cyclodextrin. Such improvement is due to the structural difference betwee n beta-CD and beta-CD polymer. These results suggested the existence of an intramolecular synergistic effect in CE.
