Abstract
The lip B gene encoding an extracellular lipase, LipB, from Bacillus subtil is was fused to the 5'-terminal region of the cwlB gene encoding the cell w all-binding domain of the major cell wall hydrolase (autolysin). SDS-polyac rylamide gel electrophoresis and zymography revealed that the fused protein is localized in the B. subtilis cell wall fraction and retains lipase acti vity.
