The aim of the present paper is to analyse the relationship between the ori
enting of attention and the expertise in spout. Move precisely, attention w
ill be viewed as a process that can facilitate or inhibit the operations in
volved in information processing subserving spout performance. If will be s
hown how voluntary and automatic orienting of attention can play a role on
both the sensory and motor stages of information processing, and how these
different processes can be optimized through the development of participant
s' expertise in a spout context.
