Abstract
The sdhCDAB operon, encoding succinate dehydrogenase, was cloned from the s oybean symbiont Bradyrhizobium japonicum. Sdh from B. japonicum is phylogen etically related to Sdh from mitochondria. This is the first example of a m itochondrion-like Sdh functionally expressed in Escherichia coli.
