Abstract
Quadratic response theory for equilibrium and nonequilibrium solvation has been extended to include both singlet and triplet perturbations. The approa ch is tested by investigating the effect of solvent on the phosphorescence lifetime of formaldehyde. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics. [S0021-96 06(99)50330-9].
