Critique on the numerical micromagnetics of nano-particles

The recently published numerical computations of the magnetization reversal mode in small, elongated ferromagnetic prisms are shown to have the wrong symmetry required by analytic micromagnetics. Therefore, they cannot repres ent a valid physical configuration of the magnetization. Their better agree ment with experiment than the analytic results for prolate spheroids are th us argued to be a mere coincidence. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All righ ts reserved.
