Abstract
The structures of nanocrystalline Fe73.5 - xAlxSi13.5B9Cu1(Nb-y Mo1 - y)(3) alloys (where 0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 2; y = 0, 0. 5, 1) were studied by means of X-ray diffraction. The response of the DC co ercivity to the annealing conditions was measured and their relationship to the compositional and structural character of the alloys determined. In al l cases the minimum in DC coercivity developed was reduced by the addition of Al to the base composition, with the Nb-free alloy showing the greater i mprovement. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
