Abstract
Two series of Fe-Si-B-Cu-Nb-based ribbons with partial substitution of alum inium were investigated with respect to their magnetoimpedance and the infl uence of heat treatments on it. Although the original Finemet composition ( f = s = b = 0) showed a much higher magnetoimpedance ratio, substitution of Si by Al improves the field sensitivity of the GMI response.
