The magnetization and anisotropy of Ni/V multilayers prepared by RF sputter
ing are presented. The magnetization decreases with Ni layer thickness t(Ni
) and the analysis of the results at 5 K indicates the presence of dead Ni
layer about 10 Angstrom thick. The Curie temperature T-C decreases as a fun
ction of film thickness in the same Ray as is usually found from finite-siz
e effects in other ferromagnets. The ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) spectra
are obtained with the applied magnetic field parallel and perpendicular to
the film plane at 300 K. From FMR, a negative value for Ni/V interface anis
otropy is obtained. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
