Abstract
A laser resonator design is presented which allows the generation of Gaussi an output beams and at the same time high discrimination of higher order mo des. The design leads to a short resonator length and the stability of lase r operation in the presence of fluctuations of the thermal lens of the lase r medium is comparable to the one for conventional dynamic stable resonator s. The resonator behaviour is demonstrated by Fox-Li calculations.
