Transient infrared laser spectroscopy near 3100 cm(-1) has been used to obs
erve the v(13) band of the allyl radical. The rotational structure has been
assigned and analyzed. Reliable assignments of both asymmetry components h
ave been made for the subbands with K-a = 0-5 and 7-10. Upper state rotatio
