Abstract
Two novel compounds, the first 29-oxymethylene azadirachtin analogue, 29-ox
ymethylene-11-demethoxy-carbonyl-11 alpha-hydroxyazadirachtin (azadirachtin
M) (1) and 22,23-dihydro-23 alpha-hydroxy-3-tigloyl-11-deoxyazadirachtinin
(azadirachtin N) (2), together with known compound Il-epi-azadirachtin H w
ere isolated from a methanolic extract of the seed kernels of Azadirachta i
ndica. The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated on the basis of spectral m
ethods.
