Abstract
A new prenyl chalcone, gemichalcone C (1), was isolated from the heartwood and root of Hypericum geminiflorum. Three new xanthones-6,7-dihyroxy-1,3-di methoxyxanthone (2), 4-hydroxy-1,2-dimethoxyxanthone (3), and gemixanthone A (4)-and four known xanthones were isolated from the leaves and stems of t he same plant.
