Abstract
Idiopathic chylothorax is an uncommon but often fatal disease in cats. Traditionally, medical management of idiopathic chylothorax in cats has bee n associated with a poor prognosis, and surgical techniques have been only marginally successful for resolving chylous effusions.) Rutin, a benzo-[gamma]-pyrone in the flavone family, may be effective for a chieving resolution of chylothorax in cats.
