Abstract
Randianin, a haemolytic active saponin from Randia dumetorum, and some of i
ts isomers with different carbohydrate side chains have been synthesized fr
om oleanolic acid. The influence of the linkage within the disaccharide res
idue on the haemolytic activity of these glycosides has been investigated.
