Abstract
In order to design potential inhibitors of UDP-glucuronosyltransferase, two different pathways for the synthesis of cyclohexane containing 5'-O-glycin e derivatives of uridine were developed, one starting with the cyclohexyl m oiety, and a second one beginning with the uridine moiety. Thus, 5'-O-(cycl ohexylcarboxyl-glycyl)-2',3'-O and 5'-O-(cyclohexylpropionyl-glycyl)-2',3'- O-isopropylideneuridine were obtained. According to the results, the second approach is more convenient.
