Single-phase Fe3SnN compound has been fabricated for the first time by anne
aling iron-tin oxalate in a mixture of NH3 and H-2. It has a f.c.c. crystal
structure, and the d space was calculated from the results of X-ray diffra
ction. The Mossbauer result indicates that the compound is a ferromagnet at
low temperature (20 K), but shows paramagnetism at room temperature. The a
verage grain size of Fe3SnN is about 10 mu m.
