Abstract
In this paper, a study of the electrically driven turbulent-turbulent trans
ition in a homeotropically oriented nematic sample is reported. The transit
ion has the characteristics of a nucleation process, and its threshold has
been experimentally determined. The nucleation rate and the growth velocity
of the new turbulent nuclei are also reported. [S1063-651X(99)05807-9].
