Abstract
The running gauge coupling and quark-antiquark potential in d-dimensions ar e calculated fram the explicit solution of d + 1-dimensional dilatonic grav ity. This background interpolates between usual AdS in UV and flat space wi th singular dilaton in IR and it realizes two-boundaries AdS/CFT correspond ence. The behaviour of running coupling and potential is consistent with re sults following from IIB supergravity. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Scien ce B.V. All rights reserved.
