Abstract
Densification and structure formation in composite TiN-Cr materials during sintering in argon, nitrogen, and vacuum were investigated. The processes w ere shown to be affected by both activating and deactivating factors arisin g from reactions between the initial components and furnace atmosphere, and depend upon the heat treatment conditions and ratio of components in the m aterials.
