An investigation of structure formation in multicomponent magnetically soft
powder metallurgy steels was carried out. A model for the homogenization o
f Fe-Si-0.06% B alloys over a wide range of silicon concentrations is propo
sed. The optimal processing regime was determined. Highest magnetic inducti
on was obtained in a 1% Si alloy and highest permeabilitu in a 6.5% Si allo
y (both are sintered at 1300 degrees C for 6 h).
