Abstract
Reaction of cyclic alpha,beta-epoxy ketones with Ce(III) chloride under hyd rous or anhydrous conditions yields the corresponding cyclic alpha-chloro-a lpha,beta-enones or cyclic alpha-chloro-beta-hydroxy ketones, respectively. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
